I Can't Stop Thinking About...Barzotto
I can’t stop thinking about the amazing pasta and tasty salad I had over the weekend at Barzotto in the Mission. I know they’ve been open for a couple of years, but Sunday afternoon was my first visit—and I can’t wait to go back.
The fast-casual Italian eatery touts homemade pasta and a rather limited menu of classic dishes. The spritz was refreshing and bitter. The salad was covered in cheese and felt healthy without tasting healthy. The ricotta was to die for.
San Francisco is full of countless amazing food options, so sometimes it’s hard to 1) choose to eat Italian food out, (My boyfriend makes a mean meatball.) and 2) keep going back to the same places. I’ve had Italian food all over North Beach, at tourist-choked Fisherman’s Wharf, at high-end places like Cotogna, and at old-school classics like Original Joe’s and Original U.S. Restaurant. For me, nothing has yet to compare to the perfectly al dente, tomato-forward pasta dishes I tried at Barzotto. I can’t wait to go back.
—End love note to pasta here. :)
