It's been eight months since I last shared an update on our ever-evolving living room. It took a while to find the perfect side table (with storage), and then life happened. But, I'm very excited to share another update! I've finally checked all the big projects off my list, and I'm super happy with the end result. It's been nearly four years in the making, but I finally feel like our living room is a strong representation of my style.
I love simple, useful pieces with personality, clean lines, and a few extra pillows. Candles, plants and books add comfort and dimension to the space. Different textures combine to add depth. Our velvet pillow covers are from H&M, the white leaning shelf is from Crate and Barrel, and the white and wood side table and lamp are from Target. The chesterfield sofa is from West Elm, and the sofa with the tufted seat is from Z Gallerie. I've linked some similar options below. Mixed in are some vintage finds, and even a few pieces from the street.
The main goal is that the living room function well for all of our roommates (there are five of us total), while still acting as a refuge. We watch tv here, eat here, and hang out. There's plenty of room for everyone!
There are of course still things I'd love to change/add, but it's getting to the point that there's not much else to do since we're renting. We're not supposed to paint (ugh!), and even though in a perfect world I'd have a long, low console/sideboard against the wall the projector transforms into a tv, finding something that's the right size seems to be impossible. For now, I'm very happy. I love each new piece we've added, I still love the sofas and coffee table, and although I'm constantly thinking about painting the mirror white, I like the wood too. FYI the mirror was a street find that I carried home.
