Have you been to Mission Bay recently? Not just to go to a Giants game or the doctor or on your way to The Mission, but actually been there? Last weekend I stumbled upon something awesome. The sun was shining, it was almost 80 degrees, and we were headed back towards Downtown from The Dogpatch, when a simple turn to avoid Giants traffic led us to Spark Social SF.
According to their website, "Spark is a new urban gathering space located in the heart of Mission Bay. We are a food truck park, beer/sangria garden, and event space designed to bring the neighborhood together for fun times, day or night. We collaborate with small businesses to ignite the spirit of community by creating warm and welcoming spaces to grub and gather. We work with over 150 food trucks from all over the Bay Area which we rotate every single day for both lunch and dinner."
In short, it might be my new favorite place to spend a sunny afternoon. There are tons of food truck options, there was salsa music being piped over the PA system, and there was white watermelon sangria. Adirondack chairs, porch swings, fire pits, gigantic jenga and a soccer field. It's family friendly, pet friendly, and there's plenty of tasty food and cold drinks.
They're open for lunch and dinner, and the assortment of food trucks changes. They have happy hour and special events. It's seriously awesome!
