A Perfect San Francisco Afternoon at Stable Cafe
Everyone seems to be craving sunshine and spring lately. This year, SF has had more than its fair share of dreary, wet, cold days. It seems like everyone has been feeling a little blue, and we're sick and tired of winter. The perfect antidote is of course sitting in the sunshine. There are a ton of choices when it comes to finding your perfect patio in The City. If you've been searching for a beautiful urban garden with yummy food you'll love my current fave cafe.
Stable Cafe is located in the Mission at Folsom and 17th. This part of the Mission is more industrial, less gentrified, and a little rough around the edges. This is one of my favorite areas to explore. There are great restaurants, bars and shops popping up, and plenty of cool warehouse spaces waiting to be transformed.
The Stable is an old carriage house, and the space is shared by a cheese school, an architecture firm, a plant/floral designer and can be rented as an even space. The beautiful garden is the working studio of Lila B. and has quickly become one of my favorite urban oasis. The trees that normally create an lush canopy are currently in bloom, and since it's not too nice out yet there's plenty of outdoor seating. Wander towards the back and try to snag a seat in the room at the back. It's dreamy, but can get crowded.
The food is solid, the avocado toast was reasonably priced and filling, the De La Paz coffee is tasty, and the entire menu look great. I'd love to take a class at The Cheese School of SF or attend an event here! Fingers crosses spring comes soon!
