Outfit Crisis : Craving Spring + Transitional Pieces
Every year at about this time I start to crave sunny weather, but usually San Francisco isn't in the mood to cooperate. I think it's much easier to be excited about winter when Christmas is still in the air, all your sweaters are new, and boots still seem novel. Once we're into February, I can't wait for spring, even though there's still plenty of winter left.
I like mixing in fun pieces that I can wear now layered, and can wear once the weather warms up. It's fun to start to bring touches of spring in, even if you have to add a sweater and jacket on top. Even something small, like a new pair of sunnies, can make your go to sweater feel fresh again.
Right now I can't get enough of the new Topshop collection, and Nordstrom has a ton of it! I'm completely obsessed with this embroidered top and this awesome tee. Their cheeky tees, on point blouses and cozy sweaters are perfect for SF's grey days. I've added pretty much everything to my wishlist, and am still trying to narrow it down. I always find Topshop runs small, so I'd suggest ordering a size up, or ordering two sizes to try. Since Nordstrom has a famously flexible return policy and free shipping, finding your ideal size shouldn't be too tough. If Nordstrom doesn't have it, the Topshop website is pretty good too.
Blush, which has been super trendy for several seasons, makes the perfect transition from winter to spring, and touches of florals are always classic. Mix and match these transitional pieces with black denim, a coat and boots for a fresh take on winter, and keep your fingers crossed for warmer, sunny skies!
